Primitive Cabins in Land Between the Lakes
Note: If you’re looking for cabins/cottages in LBL with full bathrooms, kitchens, and all modern amenities, you will not find any. Look for cabins/cottages around Land Between the Lakes near Kentucky Lake & Lake Barkley
Primitive cabins in Land Between the Lakes offer a simple, comfortable way to stay inside the recreation area without bringing a tent or RV. All four developed campgrounds inside LBL provide cabin options, including Hillman Ferry, Piney, Energy Lake, and Wranglers Campgrounds. These cabins are best described as rustic and practical, giving campers a solid place to sleep while keeping the overall camping experience intact.
Cabins are small, one room structures designed for groups of four or eight, depending on location. Inside, guests will find basic furnishings such as beds, a small table, seating, ceiling fan, heater and air conditioner, and electrical outlets. Linens, pillows, and sleeping bags are not provided, so campers should plan to bring their own. Cabins do not include kitchens or bathrooms, and smoking, pets, and additional camping units are not allowed at cabin sites.
Outside each cabin, guests have access to a covered porch, picnic table, and fire ring, making it easy to enjoy meals and evenings outdoors. While the cabins themselves are basic, they are located within developed campgrounds. Restroom and shower buildings are located nearby, along with water access and trash service. Hillman Ferry, Piney, and Wranglers Campgrounds also feature an Outpost where campers can purchase basic supplies and rentals.
Primitive cabins are a great option for visitors who want shelter from the elements, a few modern comforts, and easy access to everything LBL has to offer, without losing the feel of camping.
