Volunteer: Gardening Days at the Homeplace
Friday, March 27, 2026 - 9am to Noon
Homeplace Working Farm, 4512 The Trace, Dover, LBL
The Homeplace in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area is a working farm, that has beautiful heirloom gardens only tended to by techniques used in the 1800’s. Back in the olden days, it took a whole family – and often a whole community – to keep a garden running. From tomatoes to beans, the homeplace garden offers visitors an opportunity to taste the 1800’s. As a volunteer, you will get the chance to learn all about heirloom crops, old fashioned gardening techniques, and how these crops were baked and canned into favorite foods.
We would love for volunteers to come every couple weeks to help with our gardens.
