About Hillman Ferry Campground
Hillman Ferry Campground is one of the biggest, most activity-friendly campgrounds inside Land Between the Lakes, and it’s a great fit for campers who want easy Kentucky Lake access without giving up comfort.
It’s located in northern LBL near Grand Rivers and offers hundreds of well-defined sites spread through both wooded loops and lakefront areas, with options that range from basic sites to electric, water, and sewer hookups.
What sets Hillman Ferry apart is how much you can do without ever leaving the campground. There’s a large designated swimming area (no lifeguards, so it’s swim-at-your-own-risk), plus two boat ramps and a fishing dock for anyone who came to spend time on the water.

If you’ve got kids or a group, the extra amenities make it easy to keep everyone happy: an archery range, disc golf, ball field, bike trails, hiking trails, and a campfire amphitheater for evening programs and laid-back nights.
Hillman Ferry also works well for longer stays and mixed camping styles. Along with tent and RV camping, it offers 8-person cabin rentals, which is handy if part of your group wants a roof and A/C.
The overall vibe is relaxed, but there’s always something to do—boating in the morning, swimming in the afternoon, and a campfire to end the day when the sun drops behind Kentucky Lake.
